Enermax CS-800TA-S Enclosure
Feb 02 2004 @ 11:48AM by MikeC

Envy News takes a look at an Enermax enclosure.
"Overall, I am impressed with this case. Aside from a couple of small annoyances, this case is well worth the money. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a stylish case for their next computer or just as an upgrade to their current system. I'd also suggest considering this case if you do a lot of swapping internal components. While it would be nice to see some kind of quick release system for the expansion slots, the screwless drive bay and hard drive system really makes this case stand out."

Lian Li PC 6077 Review
Feb 02 2004 @ 11:47AM by MikeC

OCIA takes a look at a black Lian Li case.
"Lian Li definitely has a winner in the PC6077 series. The 5.25 modular front design makes personalizing your case as easy as removing and replacing a few screws. It is definitely a thing of beauty. I hope that they have plans to do the same type of front for their PC75 full tower series. If Lian Li does the modular front end on the full tower case I will place my order when they're still in the initial production run. I cannot say enough about the quality of the workmanship on this case. I am partial to aluminum cases and as far as I'm concerned Lian Li makes the best aluminum cases I have had the pleasure of using. There are plenty of cheaper cases available but the cheaper prices does not compensate for the quality of manufacturing that is lost by going cheaper."

Athenatech A106 Designer Micro-ATX Case Review
Jan 28 2004 @ 01:03PM by MikeC

TweakNews reviews a case from Athenatech.
"For the price, this is an excellent flex ATX/micro ATX case. The sleek front with the hidden devices allows you to use it in your home theater. The 60mm fans would ensure a quiet entertainment box. All that would be required is a graphics card capable of supporting a good video out stream, such as the AIW 9800 Pro. As a server box, this case would most likely handle all of your needs."

AOpen A600 Aluminum ATX Case Review
Jan 14 2004 @ 02:52PM by MikeC

PCStats reviews for us today, an aluminum enclosure from AOpen.
"AOpen has been building computer cases for as long as I can remember, in fact when I think of my very first non-generic case, the AOpen HQ08, I still get a warm feeling inside. AOpen puts as much time and effort into designing their cases as they do everything else in their diverse product line, so we've always had pretty positive experiences looking back. Consumers have become very aware of the temperature of their computer components; everything from the RAM in the motherboard to the videocard GPU, and of course the processor can effect how well a PC performs... especially an overclocked PC. As computers run pretty hot these days, many people have equipped their cases with large 80mm or 92mm fans to help keep ambient case temperatures cool by circulating more air, faster, through the case. Instead of applying that same theory to the A600, and introducing the often abundant level of 'whoosing' sounds that goes with it, the Aopen A600 uses just one single 120mm fan to do the job of many smaller fans."

Antec Super Lanboy Case Review
Jan 13 2004 @ 06:38AM by MikeC

Virtual-Hideout takes a look at the Antec Super Lanboy aluminum enclosure.
"Less than a year ago, if you wanted an aluminum case or one made with Lexan or Plexiglas, you had to get it from a specialty shop. Now it is more commonplace to see more color choices, and different materials being used. I think a lot of the credit has to be given to the staying power of the ATX specification. I still remember when the AT standard was dying out, everyone was kind of holding their breath to see if ATX was going to stay around. Now that it has been with us through so many chipset and processor revisions, manufacturers are confident that they can invest the resources into making complex cases that won't become obsolete before they can be sold."

Lian-Li PC6010 case review
Jan 10 2004 @ 07:04PM by MikeC

RipNet-UK reviews an aluminum enclosure from Lian-Li.
"... as ever in business it didn't take long for competitors to spot a good thing. Sure enough more and more manufacturers quickly got their products into the market. Some of these were pretty shoddy affairs, but others rapidly cottoned on and started to turn out cases which were all but a match for the top-end suppliers, often at a very competitive price. This is of course great for us, the end-users, as competition keeps prices at a sane level and drives forward innovation. Said innovations range from the simple but very effective, such as external fan speed controls, to the - how can I put this? Somewhat more cosmetic..."

Antec P160 Case & 430W TruePower PSU Review
Jan 09 2004 @ 08:01AM by MikeC

Bjorn3D reviews Antec's P160 case. They also review a power supply by Antec: the 430W TruePower.
"The Antec P160 is a sweet case that will turn heads and leave you without a noise induced headache. It is a little on the expensive side, averaging around $120 at most major online retailers. It is definitely worth a look for anyone looking to upgrade his/her case. The only thing you have to watch out for is that fragile LED cable and the short length of the included control panel connections."

Antec Super Lanboy Review
Jan 07 2004 @ 03:31PM by MikeC

Viper Lair reviews the Super Lanboy from Antec, their new revision to their Lanboy enclosure that was released last year.
"This is not a case you'll find at ACME Generic Computer Resellers (Ed.Note: I made that name up, so don't bother looking it up). Though it isn't a revolutionary redesign, it does improve on a lot of the original Lanboy's shortcomings. The new 120mm fans are a welcome addition, as is the redesigned storage compartment for extra screws and small tools."

Aerocool Lubic Case Review
Jan 06 2004 @ 02:05PM by MikeC

Viper Lair reiews this custom case from Aerocool. You wouldn't think of this case as a standard computer enclosure at first, but in the long run it looks pretty cool.
"The Lubic case simply put is totally different. In a world where pre-modded cases are becoming more and more popular it is nice to see something totally different. Constructing the case can be cumbersome, but if you enjoy assembling things you will have fun."

Lian Li PC-6077 Black Aluminum Mid-ATX Case Review
Dec 14 2003 @ 06:48PM by MikeC

TweakNews.net revies an aluminum enclosure from Lian Li.
"Lian Li's latest aluminum case series takes care of any possible fault I have found in any previous versions. With the inclusion of the top blowhole and additional rear exhaust, this case would be a great option for the overclocker or a conventional computer user that wants a cool running system. The universal front panel is the first I have seen on the market to date and will allow the user to customize their new case to match their taste and preferences."

Maxtop CSX-147KBF-TOP Case Review
Dec 11 2003 @ 06:11AM by MikeC

BigBruin takes a look at an enclosure from Maxtop. This case looks great and seems to include tons of added features.
"This Maxtop exclusive ATX case comes with a Qmax 350 watt ATX powersupply, power cord, an entire second set of beige drive bay covers, a set of feet, small bag of hardware, a board mounted piezo speaker, and what appears to be a backplate for AT style motherboards. Not sure about the AT appearing backplate, but if one is necessary, this is the case to get. This case can be had at many locations including Newegg for right around $40.00."

Thermaltake Xaser III Lanfire (VM2000A) Review
Nov 16 2003 @ 07:42PM by MikeC

More from Bjorn3D. This time it's Thermaltake's entry in the lightweight LAN cases, the Lanfire.
"I don't think that Thermaltake was struggling to gain acceptance from the LAN party crowd; the company just wanted to make a bolder statement in the segment to compete more directly with the other cases out on the streets that are marketed to LAN party gamers. The Lanfire version of the already popular Xaser III series was obviously made for travel. It was made smaller and weighs about 4.5 kg less than its bigger brother, the Xaser III Super Tower. Obviously, this move was to make it a more appealing chassis for a LAN rig."

Antec Lanboy Review
Nov 02 2003 @ 01:54PM by MikeC

CyberCPU reviews this lightweight case deisgned for Lan parties by Antec.
"When you think about it, what's the worst part of a LAN party? Most people would say transporting your PC. Sometimes case manufacturers do not think about a computer being moved all the time. Antec has a solution that should fit anyone's needs. The Antec Lanboy comes with all the great features to make it the perfect LAN party case."

Cooler Master Centurion Review
Oct 30 2003 @ 07:54PM by MikeC

ViperLair takes a look at this enclosure from Cooler Master.
"Cooler Master has taken their first step into the budget case market with a bold step. Their case is sleek and flashy, sure to catch the eye of many people. And for those of you who put your components into this case once, shut it up and leave it alone (except to clean the front filter every few years, this case is a good budget solution to a mid-tower."
