Gas-Turbine Technology:
Gas-Turbine Technology is Chaintech’s new approach to active cooling. Basically what Gas-Turbine cooling consists of is a higher attack angle on the fins of the fans to push more air through. As the name suggests it, it takes after turbine engines from jet aircraft. This allows for maximum airflow and pressure, which translates to a 30% increase in heat dissipation according to Chaintech. Changing the attack angle on the fins allows for more air to be moved with greater pressure, as well as the addition of more fins onto the rotor. There are 17 fins on this card. This allows for more airflow, producing more cooling with less noise generated.
Test System:
- Processor: AMD 2800+
- RAM: KingstonHyperX PC3500 CL2 1 GB kit (2x512)
- Motherboard: Leadtek K7NCR18-D ProII
I will be benchmarking the FX-71 against an eVGA TI-4600 running at stock speeds (core: 300MHz, RAM: 650MHz)
All tests were ran at 1024x768.
Onward to the benchmarks.
