SiSoft Sandra
SiSoft’s Sandra (System ANalyser, Diagnostic and Reporting Assistant) reports on the performance of individual components of a system in a theoretical fashion. Although these numbers will give you an idea of how your system may perform given certain stresses, it does not fully report on real world performance. You can get Sandra here.
The 3400+ doesn't seem to do very well in this test, as it lags behind in every single one of these tests, although it holds its own against its Intel brothers in the CPU test. It falls behind by a whopping 46% in the memory benchmark and by 54% in the multimedia benchmark. Again it doesn't seem like the integrated memory controller has any affect on performance but keep in mind that the Intel chips are running in dual channel mode which can account for some of the large differences we see here.
