Conclusion

Overall, I'm quite happy with the VNF3-250. Targeted for mainstream users, it will provide great performance with ease of use. Chaintech has always been able to forsee the needs of their customers by supplying them with bundled products that they will need in the future. I am glad they continued this line of thought by providing SATA power connectors with the VNF3-250.

A couple of things that could have been improved on before production and distribution would have been the locations of the power and cpu fan connectors. The manual could have used some work as well. It makes reference to things that aren't on the board, and the descriptions in it are sometimes vague.

Although I did not run any overclocking tests, this board seems to be designed for it. With the ability to adjust voltage settings to almost every component on the VNF3-250, it'll make it easier to find that sweet spot where your system will reach maximum performance with 100% reliability. The only hic in all of the overclocking goodness is the lack of multiplier settings. Hopefully there will be a BIOS update that will include that.

After taking the VNF3-250 to a LAN, I am pleased with its performance. It ran flawlessly and I was able to play for countless hours without experiencing any technical issues or having to reboot.

I see now why the VNF3-250 is branded with the Zenith-Value monicle. It doesn't offer all the added features of the ZNF3-250, but it does offer enough to be considered for the Zenith line.

Pros:

  • CPU, AGP, DIMM and Chipset voltage settings
  • Comes with SATA serial connectors
  • Good performance

Cons:

  • Manual needs improvement
  • Tempurature error in BIOS
  • No multiplier settings

Final Score: 87
