Introduction

When looking for a cooling solution, Thermaltake products always seem to fit the bill with uncanny precision. Since their inception in 1997, they have constantly innovated in the enthusiast pc industry and their latest addition reflects that drive they have strived to perfect. Like several heatsink manufacturers, Thermaltake has heeded the consumers call for quiet cooling solutions while not costing an arm and a leg. Enter stage left: Thermaltake’s SilentTower Heatpipe Cooler.

Specifications

The SilentTower Heatpipe Cooler is the first Thermaltake CPU cooler to take advantage of the heatpipe passive cooling phenomenon. While the copper base ensures that heat is efficiently conducted away from the CPU, the 3 copper heat pipes filled with a special conducting liquid ensure that this heat is distributed away from the processor and out to the 59 aluminum plates for transfer to the air. In order to keep air moving over the fins, the CL-P0025 comes mounted with a single 90 mm intake fan which takes advantage of multidirectional air intake and an average rpm of 2500 in order to keep the fan humming at an astonishing 21 dBA. Always thinking ahead, the heatsink is prepped for a second exhaust fan to be mounted inline to help suck that air out and improve air speed.

The unique mounting solution using the 4 standard motherboard mounting holes allows the SilentTower to be mounted on four different types of CPU architectures: Intel P4 Socket T, Intel P4 478 up to 3.2GHz, AMD Athlon 64 / Athlon 64 FX, AMD Athlon XP up to 3400+.
