Introduction
Thermaltake has come a long way since its inception in 1999. From producing their original line of heat sinks, the Thermaltake Orbs, to now producing a variety of cooling products such as fans, laptop cooling solutions, computer enclosures, power supplies, and now hard drive enclosures. The creation of the SilverRiver line marks Thermaltake’s entry into the external drive enclosure market already populated by other companies such as Vantec and Kingwin.

Thermaltake has come up with 3 models of the SilverRiver: the A2175 for 2.5” hard drives, the A2174 for 3.5” hard drives and finally the A2173 for 5.25” drives and 3.5” hard drives. I’ll be taking a look at the larger of the 3 enclosures.
