Introduction

Thermaltake has been steadily making headway into to enthusiast market with their cooling solutions, power supplies, keyboards & mice and various other computer accessories. But always at the forefront of their line up is their always prominent Xaser series of cases. We’ve watched them go from the original Xaser series, through the Xaser II and III series and now on to the XaserV series. Following in the venerable footsteps of its forefathers, the XaserV WinGo V7000D makes a statement about the way cases should be built. There’s a whole new look mixed in with some added practicality and functionality and presto, a great addition to hold the Xaser name.

Specifications

The WinGo case, being classified as a gaming case has serious hardware in mind. With 5 fans, 2 being variable speed, this case is sure to keep that hot hardware running cool and easy through the most intense gaming sessions. Also, new to this case is the compatibility with the Extended ATX form factor accommodating those in demand dual CPU systems. However, this results in a larger case: while the XaserIII series had a depth range of 460 to 520 mm, the XaserV has a whopping depth of 580 mm.

The blue version of the WinGo case is built with 1.0 mm SECC (Zinc Plated Steel) and plastic for the trim making it a heavyweight at 14 kg (30.86 lb). Of course this is negligible if the case is going to stay put and can be an added deterrent for thieves should they eye up your rig for a quick buck Also the 2 front mounted knobs allow for easy adjustment of the 2 variable speed fans located on the side and rear of the case while the top mounted media panel allows for easy access to 2 USB2.0 ports, an IEEE1394 Firewire port, and a set of audio and speaker ports. The left panel features a transparent x type window which not only shows off the hardware inside, but the 2 blue glowing exhaust fans inside. Add the WinGo EL lamp on the front door, and this case screams, “Hey, look at me! I’m kick ass!”
